Breeding Stock
MY WHITE DORPER SHEEP
I have been breeding commercial White Dorper Sheep for more than 20 years. While I have been raising sheep for over 40 years, I have not come across a breed of sheep that combines so many different good traits.
I sell ewe lambs, ram lambs, and a limited number of yearling rams. When you inquire about breeding stock via e-mail, I will send you a file (pdf attachment) that lays out the process and shows you a sample contract for the sheep you are interested in purchasing.
Purebred White Dorper (WD) ram lambs: $450 each*
Spring-born ram lambs start being able to breed at about five months of age. Such ram lamb can breed a substantial number of ewes by the fall, likely more than you think.

Purebred White Dorper yearling rams: $650 each*
Recommended for larger flocks.
If you also purchase ewe lambs, I can select a ram lamb for you that is unrelated to these ewe lambs that you can use to breed these ewes.

Purebred White Dorper (WD) ewe lambs: $400 each*
The majority of the ewe lambs sold will be twin or triplet born. Almost all their mothers are twin or triplet born themselves.
Ewe lambs born in the spring can be exposed to the ram at age 8 to 10 months. If managed properly, most of them will breed at that time.
*Picked up at the farm. Out-of-state sales require a certificate of veterinary inspection at an additional cost.
Early ordering is highly recommended. Especially ewe lambs are often quickly sold out.
My sheep are used to electric fencing (electric nettings), guard dogs (Great Pyrenees) and herding dogs (German Shepherd Dogs).
Note: Our sheep are not registered. They are commercial sheep, meant to excel in a pasture-based system.
